Accounts Assistant
About the Role
Our client is looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function within a growing property development and property management business.
This is a varied accounts role, covering purchase ledger, tenant accounting, reconciliations, payment reporting and general finance administration. The Accounts Assistant will work closely with the finance team and will be responsible for keeping accurate records, processing invoices, monitoring receipts and helping ensure the smooth running of the accounts department.
This role would suit someone with previous accounts or finance administration experience who is comfortable working independently, has strong attention to detail and is confident using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing QuickBooks records and reconciling transactions
- Processing supplier invoices received through the accounts inbox
- Inputting invoices and financial information into QuickBooks
- Responding to accounts and finance-related email queries
- Chasing outstanding residential service charge invoices
- Preparing fortnightly payment reports for management review
- Inputting completion statements relating to residential property sales
- Monitoring and tracking residential tenant receipts
- Chasing commercial tenants for rent and service charge arrears
- Maintaining records of insurance renewals across the portfolio
- Preparing insurance recharge calculations for commercial properties
- Preparing electricity recharge calculations
- Updating residential completion tracking lists and related schedules
- Providing general accounts and administrative support as required
About You
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or finance administration role
- Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Confident and professional communication skills
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable working remotely and managing your own workload
- Experience within property management or real estate would be advantageous but is not essential
Salary, Location & Hours
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
Location: Primarily remote / working from home
Hours: Flexible
