Audit Semi-Senior

Our client, a medium-sized accountancy practice in North West London, is looking for an Audit Semi-Senior to join their growing team. The role is predominantly audit-based, with most of the workload focused on statutory audits, alongside some accounts preparation when required.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Work

  • Assisting in the planning, execution and completion of audit assignments

  • Carrying out fieldwork, testing and analytical procedures

  • Reviewing internal controls and identifying areas of risk

  • Preparing audit files for manager or partner review

  • Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries

  • Ensuring work complies with relevant auditing and accounting standards

Accounts Preparation

  • Preparing year-end accounts for companies when needed

  • Completing corporation tax computations associated with the accounts

  • Supporting the accounts team during busy periods

General Practice Support

  • Communicating with clients regarding outstanding records and deadlines

  • Working alongside senior team members to ensure smooth workflow

  • Assisting junior staff where appropriate

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice with strong audit exposure

  • Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA

  • Good understanding of audit methodology and UK GAAP

  • Experience using accounting or audit software such as CaseWare, CCH or IRIS

  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients

  • Good organisational ability and attention to detail

Salary Range

For a medium-sized accountancy firm in North West London, a typical salary range for this level is £32,000 to £40,000, depending on experience, audit exposure and exam progress.
